Robert Sorby Turnmaster TUNGSTEN CARBIDE (TC) Replacement Cutter Tips
Key Features
Tungsten Carbide makes light work of the tough materials and is an extremely hard wearing and long lasting material. Although designed as a throwaway item, it can be sharpened on specialist equipment such as Robert Sorby's ProEdge when fitted with CBN or diamond abrasives. (Made much easier with the aid of the tip holder, RSTM-TH).
The round is a general purpose cutter for the rapid removal of material inside and outside bowls and hollow forms. It works equally efficiently on spindle work. The detail point offers an excellent choice for roughing down square stock to round and for creating fine detail, while the square is useful for generating square shoulders on tenons. It is also excellent for spindle work. Both the square and round cutters deliver an extremely fine finish that requires little or no sanding when the TurnMaster is switched to shear scraping mode.
Manufactured with the highest quality micro grade tungsten carbide these cutters will provide incredible durability and endurance.
Sharpening: Use a diamond file or diamond plate flat across the top face. To gain best results and increase the longevity of the cutter this simple procedure should be done little and often. Use the TurnMaster cutter holder to reshape the profile on the Robert Sorby ProEdge using a diamond belt or on a grinding wheel using diamond or other high density abrasive material. Sharpens to: 0.7 microns Hardness: 90 RC Material: micro grade tungsten carbide.
